As the electric power system and other critical national infrastructure (CNI) increasingly rely on Ethernet-based networking, industrial control systems (ICSs) and operational technology (OT) networks have become more exposed to security vulnerabilities.

This one-day seminar examines how to design an ICS that protects critical systems, supports recovery, enhances visibility, and simplifies maintenance. Seminar topics include:

  • Implementing defense-in-depth by selecting the right technologies at the right levels to support the entire system.
  • Understanding and applying cybersecurity frameworks, such as MITRE, and standards, such as IEC 62443.
  • Incorporating software-defined networking (SDN), virtualization, and application containerization to meet the NIS-2 directive and support zero-trust network architectures.
